Carlsbad Caverns National Park is a U.S. National Park in the Guadalupe Mountains of southeastern New Mexico. The primary feature of the park is the show cave, Carlsbad Caverns. Cedar trees and piñon-juniper woodlands are found in the upper elevations, while creosote bush scrub dominates the lower elevations.

Tours leave every hour from 8:30am to 3:30pm and last approximately one hour. Guided tours are available year-round, except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.
If you’re looking for a more adventurous caving experience, you can apply for a permit to go off-trail or overnight camping in the caverns. Permits are required for all off-trail activities and can be obtained at the Visitor Center or online. Overnight camping is only allowed in certain areas of the cave and reservations must be made in advance.
